Nutrition Labels

Last THURSDAY (10/13) we did an assignment in class with partners. You must look up the amounts of calories, fat, sugar, and sodium for 2 meals and 2 snacks.

Please see me for the worksheet OR you can just use a normal sheet of paper.

When you have gathered all of the information add up the TOTAL amount of calories, fat, sugar, and sodium and circle it at the bottom.

Let me know if you have questions!

Mental Health Brochure

I asked each student to choose one of the mental disorders (or research a different one upon my approval) and create a brochure.

Each student has a PINK worksheet that has their notes about the mental disorders on it. They are allowed to use this paper as well as the internet. I recommend nih.gov for reliable health information. The information that they MUST include is also on this pink worksheet. The need to include: The full name of the disorder, the effects of the disorder on the individual, the effects of the disorder on the family and friends of the individual, treatment, and information on where they can go for help (this should be found  on the Internet or in a phone book. Address, phone number, and website would be great.

The brochure should also include some color and pictures. I gave the students almost a week to complete this assignment so I am expecting it to be NEAT and PROFESSIONAL looking.

Thanks for your hard work,

Mrs. Rasmussen

Suicide Assignment

After our discussion on suicide the students had an assignment.

The 10th graders were asked to read the story on the back of their GREEN WORKSHEET and answer the  questions at the bottom (1 paragraph (3-4 sentences) for each question).

The 7th graders were given a WHITE worksheet with boxes on it. Their job was to create a story board for a suicide prevention television commercial. They were required to include the WARNING SIGNS of suicide as well the the number to call for help (1-800-Suicide)

Mahalo plenty,

Mrs. Rasmussen

LIFE LIST

This assignment was one that the students worked on for a few weeks in class.

They were asked to create a LIFE LIST (sometimes known as a bucket list). They needed to list some things that they would like to do in their lives - money was no option.

This worksheet is YELLOW - come to me if you need one!

Many of you have this worksheet, you just need to TURN IT IN!

Thanks,

Mrs. Rasmussen

A Stressed Out Teen

This assignment was done in class on a day when we were discussing stress.

It is a blue worksheet with a large box on it (if you don't have one PLEASE SEE ME!)

You need to write 2 paragraphs.

Paragraph 1 - Tell me the name of the character and most importantly HOW STRESS IS HURTING HIS/HER PHYSICAL BODY.

Paragraph 2 - Tell me how this character can MANAGE THEIR STRESS.

If you are missing this assignment please turn in ASAP!

Thanks,

Mrs. Rasmussen
